A new tool in our repository – Axis Vapix/Onvif Python
[/trx_title]
Axis Vapix / Onvif Python – A library designed to provide control and configuration of Axis cameras using the Onvif and Vapix protocol. So it is possible to create, modify and automate your own control tools.
VAPIX® is Axis’ own open API (Application Programming Interface) using standard protocols, allowing integration into a wide range of solutions on different platforms.
VAPIX® provides functionality to request images, control the panoramic zoom, control the input and output ports, retrieve and control internal settings, manage events, record and retrieve videos to / from the SD card and much, much more. Almost all the features available in Axis products can be controlled using VAPIX®, some functions are only supported by VAPIX®, for example, to retrieve Bitmap images.
The ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is a global and open industry forum aimed at facilitating the development and use of a global open standard for the interface of IP-based physical security products. ONVIF sets a standard for how IP products within video surveillance and other areas of physical security can communicate. ONVIF is an organization started in 2008 by Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems and Sony.
In the link below you will find all the library’s documentation.
