Resuming our regular meetings

[/trx_title]

Every Friday our team meets to discuss articles about our areas of interest and the progress of our members’ work.

At this year’s first meeting, doctoral student Igor Leonardo O. Bastos presented the paper: Continuous Sign Language Recognition via Reinforcement Learning (Zhihao Zhang, Junfu Pu, Liansheng Zhuang, Wengang Zhou, Houqiang Li). It is an approach for the recognition of continuous gestures (without segmentation), which uses reinforcement learning to incorporate the WER metric in the convergence of the model.

Our member Victor Hugo Cunha de Melo also presented the progress and promising results of his research project in Gait Recognition. A technique for recognizing people by the way of walking.
